Over Due Theatre Company is seeking performers ages 6-Adult for our upcoming production of Children of Eden!
To be considered for a role, prepare 16-32 bars of a song in the style of a show and sign up for a slot HERE. Please bring sheet music as an accompanist will be provided. There will be no movement call at the initial audition. Callbacks will be held Tuesday, May 24th.
Auditions, rehearsals & performances will take place at Lutheran High School South in Affton. Rehearsals will be held on Tuesday/Thursday evenings and Sundays starting June 5th. Tech begins July 31st and performances are August 4-7th with a 2 show day on Saturday.
The Children of Eden is a story very loosely based on the first 9 books of Genesis. Act 1 tells the story of Adam, Eve, and their children while Act 2 focuses on Noah and the ark. We are not presenting this as a biblical work- it is simply a story adapted from the Bible by book writer John Caird.
We are open to casting the show incredibly creatively; please do NOT use other productions as a blueprint to see if there is a role here for you. Our goal is to feature as many strong performers in this production in the ways that suit them best. Since this is our all-ages show, we are flexible in the ages of some of these characters; several may be played by teens or adults. The storyteller soloists and featured dancers are great roles for strong performers of any age.
We are committed to building a cast that is reflective of our community at large; BIPOC, trans/non-binary performers, and performers with disabilities are strongly encouraged to audition.
Over Due is an all ages community theatre and all roles are volunteer, non-paying roles. We ask that all perfomers pay a $50 facility fee but will not allow this to be a barrier for anyone. Full scholarships are available through the Wayne Alan Mackenberg Scholarship Fund.
