We are seeking 3 women and 7 men to cast two upcoming one-act plays. The performance dates run from February 13-17. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Copies of both plays are available in the Meramec Library.

A relaxing day in Central Park becomes a psychological standoff when a wealthy executive and an unstable vagrant find themselves seated on the same bench. Over the course of an afternoon, this unlikely pair will learn that they have more in common than they think – but that doesn’t make for a happy friendship. With a mix of suspense and dark humor, playwright Edward Albee shows how a close encounter can drive two people even deeper into isolation.

Black Comedy Synopsis: An ill-conceived plot to “borrow” some furniture spins out of control when a fuse blows, turning a dinner party into a farce of mistaken identity and hidden hijinks. As Brindley’s neighbors, his fiancée, his ex, and his wealthy benefactors all show up to his dumpy apartment, he’s scrambling to keep everyone in the dark about what’s really going on. But while the lights are out, the audience can see it all.
