Audition Notice for “The Adivina is Never Wrong” by Teri Hegarty

Tuesday & Wednesday, September 26 & 27 at 7 – 9:30 p.m. on the campus of St. Louis Community College-Meramec,  11333 Big Bend Road, Kirkwood MO 63122

Auditions take place in the Humanities Building in the Studio Theatre, Room 112. Audition will consist of cold readings from the script and improvisation.

Synopsis.  “The Adivina is Never Wrong,” tells the story of Rosa, who lives on an ostrich ranch and dreams of going to college to study meteorology. But that’s not what her mother and great-grandmother want for her. Greatly influenced by a fortune teller’s prediction from years before, Rosa’s family seems to have limited her life choices. Or have they?

CASTING THE FOLLOWING:

ROSA Sofia’s daughter and the great granddaughter to Mimma. Female in her late teens. Fluent in Spanish & English.

SOFIA / MAMÁ Rosa’s mother and the granddaughter of Mimma. She owns and operates an ostrich ranch in San Antonio, Texas. Female, early- to mid-30s. Fluent in Spanish & English.

MIMMA Rosa’s great grandmother and the grandmother of Sofia. Female in her late 70s to early 80s. Fluent in Spanish & English.

TV ANNOUNCER    Flexible Casting, possible voiced only role.

KELSEY KEEGAN, Meterologist. Female with a clear, confident voice.

DAKOTA STILLWATER Female with a clear, confident voice.

OLD WOMAN Female in her late-60s to late-70s

DELIVERY PERSON Flexible Casting, early 20s

CURIOUS SPECTATOR Flexible Casting, early 20s

GIZMO A male ostrich

HONG A female ostrich
