“Exit Laughing” by Paul Elliott
The Alpha Players will hold open, non-Equity auditions for “Exit Laughing” at 7pm. Monday, February 25, 2019 at the Florissant Civic Center Theatre (Parker & Waterford Roads, Florissant, MO 63033)..
Synopsis: The show happens on a single night in the lives of three middle-aged women, who meet weekly for a game of cards. When their fourth player, Mary, passes away, the ladies “borrow” her ashes from the funeral parlor for one last game. Meanwhile, one woman”s daughter is coping with the dating scene.
Roles are available for four women and one man. (A description of roles appears below..)

Performances will be May 17, 18, 24 & 25 at 7:30pm and May 26 at 2pm at the Florissant Civic Center Theatre.
“Exit Laughing” is produced by special arrangement with Dramatic Publishing Company, Inc., of Woodstock, IL.
DESCRIPTION OF ROLES:
RACHEL ANN HARLAND (age 19-22) – a young woman who seems to have issues with life and men, daughter of Connie Harland.
CONNIE HARLAND (50’s) – mother of Rachel, very much a sweet, motherly, home-body
LEONA (50-60’s) – one of Connie’s closest friends and a member of the bridge club for over 30 years. She’s a beautician by profession and a rather caustic lush by preference.
MILLIE (50-60’s) – another of Connie’s friends and a long-standing member of the bridge club. This is a woman who moves to her own special drummer, even though she’s the only one who can hear him.
POLICEMAN/BOBBY (19-23) – a young man of many talents, in good physical condition. As Bobby, he is supposed to go on a date with Rachel Ann.
