Trinity Presbyterian Church in University City is seeking an Alto Section Leader. The Section Leader will need to be available Thursday evenings @ 7:15PM for rehearsals, and Sunday mornings for 10AM services. The Section Leader will be expected to:
Section Leader Duties:
Serve as a leader for their section. This includes preparing music before rehearsals, remaining focused and positive during rehearsals, and treating other singers in the choir with mutual respect and professionalism.
Be prepared to perform solos when called upon by the director. The section leader may refuse, provided they and the music director work out an alternative.
Help identify trouble areas with your section and help to resolve them as well as communicate these with the director.
A section leader may be asked to lead sectional rehearsal for their section.
The Section Leader Shall:
Attend each scheduled rehearsal and Sunday morning service. The Section Leader may be occasionally required to attend additional rehearsals before a major performance.
Attend the following special services: Christmas Eve, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
Attend other special services or programs as requested. All extra services will be announced sufficiently in advance and shall be compensated at the normal rate.
Provide prior notice for any expected abesence, including illness or peorsonal circumstances. Section Leaders are expected to find a suitable substitute in the event of an approved absence.
