Shakespeare a-GoGo is mounting a heavily abridged version of The Tempest for performance in local schools to prepare students for the free shows in Forest Park this summer.
Performance dates aren’t finalized, but will be during school hours in April/May.
Date or time accommodations can be arranged upon request with advance notice (we can probably work with college students, too, assuming you know your class schedule in spring). There will be a stipend, the size of which will depend largely upon the number of shows.
3 actors will portray 12 characters:
Prospero/Antonio/Captain/Stephano
Miranda/ARIEL/Sebastian/Trinculo
Ferdinand/Alonso/Gonzalo/Caliban
Interested actors are encouraged to submit a video displaying at least 3 distinctly different characters.
If you want to submit a classical monologue or read a passage from any of the characters listed, that’s great!
But it’s far more important to display your flexibility.
Show us your craziest characters.
If you don’t have monologues prepared that fit the style of character you choose to share, feel free to just speak/read anything appropriate in character.
Preferred submission would be via YouTube link submitted with your headshot and resume to the email below, but we can absolutely work with whatever your technical capabilities may be.
Successful applicants will be contacted by mid-February for callbacks.
