The Life and Times of Charles Brown | Short Film

We are looking for two male and two female actors to play the lead and supporting roles in our short film currently titled “The Life and Times of Charles Brown”.


Charles Brown explores the adult life of Charles Shulz character Charlie Brown, returning to his hometown to visit the grave of his dog. Through meeting various people from his childhood, Charles discusses alcoholism, abuse, depression, anxiety, and grief.


Charles Brown (30-40), Male, White, Little to No Hair – Is returning from New York to his small hometown from his childhood to visit the grave of his dog Snoopy. Has become a broken man and alcoholic. Is the older brother of Sal. Appears in every scene of the film.

Homeless Man (30-60), Male, White – Lives at a bus stop, just looking for a smoke. Appears in only one scene of the film.

Pat (30-40), Female, White, Brunette Hair – Works as a clerk in a liquor store. Smokes and reads magazines all day. Stuck in a cycle of self destruction, looking for a way out. Use to be good friends with Charles. Appears in only one scene of the film.

Sal (25-35), Female, White, Blonde Hair – Younger sister of Charles. Is a victim of abuse, and is 8 months pregnant. Appears in only one scene of the film.

Compensation will be Film Credit, meals at lunch for all three filming days, and a copy of the finished film for acting reels/resumes.

We ask that as a requirement you please bring a headshot(s) and resume or short bio of your acting experience/training to your audition. A “side” from the script will be provided for you to perform in front of the director and producer while being filmed on camera.

Auditions are Friday, February 1st from 4p.m. – 9p.m. and Saturday, February 2nd from 12p.m. – 5p.m. You may show up to audition on either day.

Filming dates for “The Life and Times of Charles Brown” are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, March 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. The film will be shot entirely in the St. Louis area.
