ABOUT THE SHOW
Two cops. Three crooks. Eight doors. Go.
In this fast-paced, award-winning farce, two rookie cops set up a sting operation in a small-town motel—only to have everything go hilariously wrong. Mistaken identities, missing pants, bumbling disguises, and a Scottish hitman with an accent thick enough to stop a bullet… this show is pure comic mayhem from curtain up to blackout.
“Unnecessary Farce” is a gift for actors who love physical comedy, precision timing, and high-energy ensemble work. Every role crackles with opportunity for big laughs, fast footwork, and sharp character work.

Act Two Theatre is one of the region’s most vibrant and respected community theatres, known for professional-quality productions, very large season ticket holder base of support, sold-out runs, and welcoming creative culture. The 2025 production of Fiddler on the Roof sold out every performance in our 318 seat theatre—and Unnecessary Farce launches our 2026 season with that same momentum.
We pride ourselves on a fun, organized rehearsal process led by experienced directors and a collaborative team who love great theatre and respect actors’ time and craft.

Auditions: Monday & Tuesday, December 8–9
Callbacks (by invitation): Wednesday, December 10

Auditions will consist of readings from the script (no monologues required).

Rehearsals: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (6:00–9:30 pm)
