Acting Classes for Adults at COCA—Winter/Spring Session 2026

Adult Acting 610106

Ages 18 +

Mondays 6 – 7:25 pm

January 26 – May 4 (14 weeks)

This class starts with acting exercises and theater games to learn basic techniques. Then moves on to short scenes and eventually monologues, where the focus is on interpreting a script and making specific choices for creating characters.

No previous experience necessary.

 

Acting for Adults II 610107

Ages 18 +

Saturdays 11 am – 12:25 pm

January 24 – May 9 (14 weeks)

This class levels up the acting exercises and scene work, but with an emphasis on monologues. There is continued focus on making specific choices for character creation within the scenes and monologues.

Adult Acting or Instructor approval is required for Acting for Adults II.

 

Screen Acting for Adults 610116

Ages 18 +

Mondays 7:30-8:55 pm

January 26 – May 4 (14 weeks)

In this class students get in front of the camera to explore acting exercises, scenes and monologues. The focus is on making the acting believable for the screen. Commercial work and auditions are also covered.

No previous experience necessary.

David Wassilak is a St. Louis based actor, director, and producer. He has forty years of experience on the professional stage and has been in film for over thirty years. He has won awards from The St. Louis Theater Circle and the 48 Hour Film Festival.
