Fall 2024 Session

Classes are open to both experienced and inexperienced students.

SCREEN ACTING FOR ADULTS   600116

Mondays 7:30 – 8:55 pm

September 9 – December 9 (14 Weeks)

Age: 18 and up

In this class, students learn introductory acting exercises and to transfer their skills to the camera.

Basic on-camera techniques across a variety of styles are explored, including film, television, and commercials.

No previous training required.

 

ADULT ACTING   600106

Saturdays 11:00 am – 12:25 pm

September 7 – December 14 (14 Weeks)

Age: 18 and up

In this class, students engage in acting exercises and scene work to help them increase their focus and active listening, discover physical action, and define acting objectives within the text. They develop vocal range and articulation while participating in ensemble and character development work. During the semester, students rehearse and perform two- and three-person scenes as well as monologues.

No previous training required.

 

ADULT ACTING II   600107

Saturdays 12:30 – 1:55 pm

September 7 – December 14 (14 Weeks)

Age: 18 and up

In this class, students engage in ensemble and scene work to help them increase active listening and define acting objectives within text. They further develop vocal range and articulation while participating in ensemble and character development work. During the semester, students rehearse and perform monologues, two-person and three-person scenes from classic and contemporary plays.

Adult Acting or instructor approval is required as a prerequisite for Adult Acting II.

David Wassilak is a St. Louis based actor, director and producer. He previously served as Associate Artistic Director as well as a co-founder of St. Louis Actors’ Studio, was a co-founder and producer for The Midnight Company, and was an Associate Artistic Director for Orthwein Theatre Company. David was chosen as 2013 Outstanding Supporting Actor by The St. Louis Theater Circle, Best Actor in the 2006 St. Louis 48 Hour Film Project, Riverfront Times Best Actor in 1999, earned numerous Judy Awards over the years from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and was nominated for two Kevin Kline Awards in 2007. He appears the films Bad Grandmas, The Man in Room 6, and The Box. David has directed at Stray Dog Theatre, Solid Line Productions, St. Louis Actors’ Studio, St. Louis Community College at Meramec, The Midnight Company and Orthwein Theatre Company.
