COCA–VIRTUAL Adult Beginner/Intermediate Acting

In this class, students engage in acting exercises and scene work to help them increase their focus and active listening, discover physical action, and define acting objectives within texts. They develop vocal range and articulation while participating in ensemble and character development work. During the semester, students rehearse and perform monologues and two-person scenes.

No previous training required.

David Wassilak is a St. Louis based actor, director and producer. He previously served as Associate Artistic Director as well as a co-founder of St. Louis Actors’ Studio, was a co-founder and producer for The Midnight Company, and was an Associate Artistic Director for Orthwein Theatre Company. David was chosen as 2013 Outstanding Supporting Actor by The St. Louis Theater Circle, Best Actor in the 2006 St. Louis 48 Hour Film Project, Riverfront Times Best Actor in 1999, earned numerous Judy Awards over the years from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and was nominated for two Kevin Kline Awards in 2007. He has directed at Stray Dog Theatre, Solid Lines Productions, St. Louis Actors’ Studio, St. Louis Community College at Meramec, The Midnight Company and Orthwein Theatre Company.
