Storyline: Friendship Application is a mockumentary-style comedy about a lonely woman who creates a formal “application process” to find friends as an adult. As she interviews candidates and navigates painfully awkward social situations, the film explores loneliness, desperation, and the absurd rituals of modern connection with deadpan humor in the vein of The Office and Nathan For You.

25 to 39 years old, all ethnicities female. A hyper-analytical, socially anxious woman who turns friendship into a formal hiring process. She is deeply awkward, emotionally stunted, and control-obsessed, but genuinely yearning for connection. Her journey is comedic but surprisingly emotional. Tone/Comps: Aubrey Plaza, Nathan Fielder energy. LEAD.

25 to 39 years old, all ethnicities female. Optimistic, naive, and intensely sincere. Homeschooled, emotionally open, and desperate for friendship in the sweetest way possible. June becomes the moral center of the film and ultimately the “chosen friend.” She must balance sweetness, awkwardness, and comedic physicality. CO-LEAD.

25 to 39 years old, all ethnicities female. Confident, sarcastic, and socially savvy. A self-aware “mean girl” who treats friendship as a social transaction. She initially seems shallow but reveals surprising moral clarity. Tammy must be hilarious, sharp, and charismatic enough that audiences like her despite her cruelty. CO-LEAD.
Strong comedic timing and comfort with improv is a plus.
