COCA—ACTING CLASSES FOR ADULTS

Summer 2026 Session

Classes are open to both experienced and inexperienced students.

ACTING FOR ADULTS

Mondays 6:00 – 7:25 pm

June 1 – August 3 (10 Weeks)

Age: 18 and up

In this class, students engage in acting exercises and scene work to help them increase their focus and active listening, discover physical action, and define acting objectives within the text. They develop vocal range and articulation while participating in ensemble and character development work. During the semester, students rehearse and perform two- and three-person scenes as well as monologues.

No previous training required.

 

SCREEN ACTING FOR ADULTS

Mondays 7:30 – 8:55 pm

June 1 – August 3 (10 Weeks)

Age: 18 and up

In this class, students are introduced to the skills needed to perform and audition in front of the camera. They learn basic terminology and technique, and gain practical experience by performing and reviewing scenes, monologues and commercials.

No previous training required.

David Wassilak is a St. Louis based actor, director, and producer. He has forty years of experience on the professional stage and has been in film for over thirty years. David has being teaching at COCA for twenty years. He has won awards from The St. Louis Theater Circle and the 48 Hour Film Festival.
