Lucy – Lead, female, ages 17-21
Ethnicity: East Asian, White, Ethnically Ambiguous/Multiracial
Description: A people-pleaser, conflict-averse, and desperate for approval. Romantic and sensitive underneath but has learned to suppress empathy to survive her friend group. Carries deep guilt after the death of her secret girlfriend.
Note: Must be comfortable with an on-screen kiss with an actor of the same gender.
Cody – Supporting, male, ages 17-21
Ethnicity: White
Description: Lucy’s ex-boyfriend was part of the popular crowd. Confident, entitled, and casually cruel. Layered antagonist with moments of vulnerability. Self-centered without self-awareness; genuinely believes he’s a good guy.
Andy – Supporting, male, ages 17-21
Ethnicity: Any
Description: Another member of Lucy’s friend group. Loud, immature, and eager to impress others, often joining in bullying behavior without much thought. Not actively malicious but complicit through passivity. Thoughtless rather than cruel.
Mrs. Anchan – Supporting, female, ages 40-60
Ethnicity: South Asian
Description: Lead role’s grieving mother. Kind, warm, but emotionally worn by the loss of her daughter.
