Character Breakdown

Freebird (F, 40 to 65 years old): a prison guard who has decades of experience. No nonsense, this is a woman who has a loving heart beating under the gruff exterior. From the southern part of MO, she speaks with a bit of an accent, her idioms chock full of country fried steak.

Jeb: (M, 30s-50s) an inmate, he’s critical of what’s around him, a consumer with an always-ready consumer report. Easy demeanor, talky, punchy.

Virgil: (M, 20s) A younger criminal whose baby momma is expecting, Virgil sees repentance as a hobby that he doesn’t take much interest in, as it’s the twins due on Valentine’s Day that he’s thinking about.

Clementine: (M, 30s-50s). A big man, slow but steady in his speech, a gentle giant, serving time.
